I may be going crazy, but I clearly remember reading an article saying the AKC is considering registering cloned dogs, along with letting them compete in conformation. The whole idea and the fact the AKC would even consider that is confusing; I thought the purpose of showing dogs was to evaluate BREEDING stock, not cloning stock, but correct me if I'm wrong? I also think before you spend $40,000 or more to get a carbon copy of Poopsy, you could give a pound puppy a chance. And, even if you did clone a dog, wouldn't its personality be different still?
