Ok, thanks for the help! The wheel he has is about 6.5 inches long (I measured) and Freddie is about five inches long. So our next trip to Petsmart (we need a LOT of stuff so it will be pretty soon) I'm going to get a new wheel for him. And I also measured his cage and a nine or ten inch wheel will just barely fit in his wheel space, but it will fit.
