This was EXACTLY the same situation I was in with Delsi. Delsi did extremely fine and bounced right back. Next, after Chloe has her teeth cleaned, ask the Vet. for Antirobe Aquadrops. (clindamycin hydrochloride liquid) You give 25 mg each day for 5 days once a month. This keeps killing bacteria germs that cause the disease. The reason her breath is so bad is because of gum disease. Some dogs have deeper pockets here and there at the gum and food gets trapped in them. Brushing isn't going to get them out. Also after her cleaning this time, brush her teeth either daily or every other day, but buy Crest Pro-Health mouth rinse, take Q-tips to dip and rub all over the gums EVERY day. I do Delsi's teeth after her last meal of the day. This way nothing sits in her mouth all night.
