i hear you. my little poodle with congestive heart failure that i used to have had horrible teeth. they were cleaned right before i brought her home from the vet hospital (so the hospital would eat the cost) and it was nerve-wracking. she had a bunch of extractions, but she did fine with the anesthesia.

later on, she really should have had them done again, but i was too scared. we did pulse antibiotics for her instead to help fight infections (she was on antibiotics twice daily for one week of the month).
