I think it depends on your area... I'm lucky, heartworm is practically unheard of here. Vet has seen three cases in 10 years.. all in dogs from out of state. So I do not give it to mine, the whole idea makes me uncomfortable.. however, if I did live in a different area and my vet told me to get them on it, I probably would.. I would not like it, but I'd do it. Kinda stinks either way ya look at it.
