I have 5 dogs and 2 kids one of them is just a toddler.
My breed is a pretty small breed however they are not toy sized.
I believe as long as you teach the child/children to respect the dogs, how to hold them and to make sure there safety is important even tot he toddler you are OK. Allot of it depends on your home situation and how your own children are.
My son is ALL boy and wild and crazy however he listens and loves the dogs. he is very kind, gentle and loving with them. He is also never unsupervised.
