I agree the back seat is the safest place. Make sure the car seat has a strap that you buckle to your pups harness. Also, my advise is don't buy an expensive harness or car seat for the first time. My puppy chewed through 4 harness and straps and bit a huge hole through the cushion of her carseat in the first 3 months. I could hear her chewing back there but I couldn't stop her from chewing while I was driving. I filled her seat with chew toys but the little stinker liked the taste of her carseat more. You know the trully best solution is to put her in a crate that is strapped down with the seatbelt. She can have her chew toys in there and she is safest in a car accident. She will definetly cry for a while but she will grow out of that soon.
