5 am vomiting

a couple times a week My dobie, T, will just throw up on the bedroom carpet. He doesn't want to, isn't trying to and acts guilty afterwards (although I've not ever fussed at him about it). It's a very small amount (couple - three tablespoons)

I've tried to narrow it down to something he's eaten the night before but it's very inconsistant so I can't pinpoint it. I know the food is digesting cause it's just bile (yellow/green). Once or twice there's food chunks, but usually it's mostly liquidy.

I've tried changing his food to a lamb/rice mixture and that's helped the flatulance, but not the vomiting.

He acts fine otherwise and after the emptying of the stomach he's fine too and goes back to sleep. He has access to fresh water and sleeps on his bolster bed on the floor in our bedroom.

Any ideas?
