I saw a picture of a Yorkie in a library book when I was about 7 years old. It had a show coat, and I knew I just had to have one. I had all kinds of little-girl fantasies about what it would be like having my own little dog, did everything wrong, and finally got a Yorkie at 12 years of age. The breed wasn't a very good match, though I think it would've been a lot better had I known what I was doing and trained my baby. I have a soft spot in my heart for Yorkies now, but in the back of my head I always know they probably aren't my ideal breed. We did "foster" (long story) one for a little while, and his temperament and characteristics were more suited to me, so I think I'd have to be exposed to better representations of the breed to know for sure either way.

I'm currently waiting to experience a story like KennelMom's when I get my first Greyhound soon.
