Early Sunday morning my mom woke me up. She had fallen over one of the dogs when she got up, and had Cheech in her hand. Well, she knew something happened and looked up only to see Cheech looking at her with wide eyes and holding his right front paw up.

His paw was swelling and new something was probably broken. She took him to the e-vet. They fell in love with him because he was being so good. They were amazed at how well behaved he was for a chi, and told my mom she must be doing something right because he's the only nice chi they have had come in there.

Anyways, the X-rays showed that he broke 4 of his weight baring bones in his paw and will probably have to have rods placed in.

Poor thing. So they splinted it for now until his appt. tomorrow with a specialist that works with our rescue group. He has a nice purple bandage and doesn't bother to take it off at all. He also doesn't even act uncomfortable. So we only give him his pain pill at night so he rests better. They sedated him a little when they splinted it because they didn't want to upset him. They also gave him a shot of morphine. Let's just say he was pretty spacey when he came home. lol

But I will keep you all posted. Just say a little prayer for our Cheechy-Beechy.
