Hi everyone I am Dawn from Ohio, USA. I found this website today and thought it was awesome. I have an awesome story about my Jack. My Jack is a flat coat retreiver that is black. He has changed my life. I work at a coal mine and we found a dog in a clay pit. It was brought back to the office and I tended to him. I tried to find his home but no one claimed him. We had a dog run set up so I got him some food and some grooming items and started taking care of him. My husband sharpens clipper blades and does repairs for dog groomers. So we asked around to see if anyone would be interested in giving him a good home. However, no one wanted him because he was a large dog. At the time, we just couldn't keep him at our home so he stayed at the office outside. My heart would break every night when I would leave because you could see his face. He was so sad I was leaving he would just cry and it would break my heart. While I was gone he must have really gotten mad. He would chew around my office door to try to get in and all kinds of stuff. Whenever I would arrive in the morning he would jump up on my steps tail wagging and I swear he was smiling and he would pick up a paw and wave at me. He just showed so much love to me. Never has an animal ever had so many human features to me than Jack. Well one day my boss had had enough of him chewing and said he had to go (he wasn't very happy) and he is an avid hunter and I was worried what he would do. He let Jack go. I thought I would never see him again, but he stayed right by my door. When I had to get in my car he would run after me where ever I went. It was breaking my heart thinking of what might happen to him when I left I just cried and cried. I called my husband and told him of the conversation my boss had with me and he told me to bring him and we will work things out till we can get him a good home. Well, I still have him. He has his home. I love this dog so much. He follows me where ever I go. Right now he is warming up my feet!! (he he) He shows me so much love. Everyone says that he knows that I saved his life. He protects me. He is excellent with my children and even gets along with my cat. However, he is a little curious about my chincilla (never done anything but stare at him though) I would be lost without this dog. We found this dog in October of 2004. I brought him home to live a week before Christmas. He has such loyalty. He is such a good dog. I just wanted everyone to know about my Jack.
We need more folks just like you in this world. Big hugs to Jack. He sounds so wonderful. Can you post a photo of him.?
