I often ignore both of my dogs for a little while during the day. If I'm reading a book or doing needle point I don't let my dogs pester me into playing with them. They try really hard for a few minutes but they get the idea and either play with each other or go lie down. I can't let them pester me all day long or I wouldn't get any time to myself and I would be playing fetch and tug o war 14 hours a day! LOL. My cats are very friendly and need my time too. They pester harder then the dogs sometimes and get right in my face. My favorite time of the day is evenings where I sometimes have two dogs and two cats laying all over me while I strain my neck to see over them and watch a little tv. They all do this thing where they fight over who gets to be higher up on my body and the one who lays across my neck or face wins. It's a dominance thing but all four animals do it. It makes it hard to watch tv or sleep so I usually end up shoving all four on the floor. LOL
