The guy was telling his friend about the DVD he just watched, and his pauses, jerks and stutters were to mimic what the DVD did whilst he was watching it. Pausing in places, jerking and jumping and stuttering in others. The DVD player advertised in the ad claims that they run smoothly with none of those problems.
