2 puppies here
Hi all!
I'm proudly owned by 2 9 month old puppies, Sam and Spike. They are littermate brothers, born into a family of 11 puppies by a mom that was roaming the streets. Mom was dart sedated for capture and everyone brought into a no-kill shelter and adopted out. I volunteer at that shelter.
Mom was a setter mix and dad(s?) was (were?) wandering men. Sam looks very much like a golden retriever and Spike looks like, well, a black dog (sort of a black setter/retriever mix). It's been years since we had a puppy and we had to relearn a lot of things when we adopted them.
We were dogless for about a year before we adopted the puppies. At our prime, we were owned by 5 dogs - 2 greyhounds, a brown dog, a black dog, and a shepard mix (sizes 50 pounds to 95 pounds). All were rescue dogs (either shelters, found on the streets, or adopted thru rescue groups).
We also have a lot of cats. We live on 10 acres in mostly farmland and are constantly being dumped on by the city folks that take their animals "to the country for a better life". Some are strays and some are true ferals which we try to socialize and give a better life. We've placed a lot of dogs and cats over the years due to this issue, and have finally found a local no-kill shelter that I volunteer at, and in turn they help me find homes for the dumpsters. We all win.
This looks like an interesting place!
