i live on about $650/month after rent, and i've managed to save money toward buying a house. none of my utilities are included in my rent, either, and i'm paying, for example, freakin $63/month for cable, and a gazillion dollars in dog food a month.

i think if you're careful, you should be able to do it. try it for a month or two and if you're spending more than you can afford, get a part time job?
