Clip the Achilles’ tendon??

just wonder if you think this would be creul??? My dad says that his grandad did all the time to his farm dogs.... But the reason i am asking is that i have had to help catch a Brittnay Spaniel yeaster and the day before, he is 10 months and has had no proper training... it is frustrating to because the owner has to little kids and the always leave the gate open, so about every week we get a call, "Hey Chelsey, Roy got out, can you come help?" so my dad last night suggested that they or the vet clip the Achilles’ Tendon, he said that it will slow the dog down and doesnt hurt them, like i said his grandad did it, but i kno times have changed, i at first thought that this was insane! but kno i am getting tired of chasing him down, i mean he is a powerful puppy, and doesnt kno what come means.... so what do you think... everyone is welcome to put advice, but rele if you are a vet or vet in training, i would deff. like your input! well that is all
