OMG, this is the worst. I am terribly sorry to hear this Red hot. My thoughts and prayers are with you, that you will be able to be strong as possible through this ordeal and that when the time comes you'll be able to bear it. We'll be here for you. All you can do now is love him with all you've got for his time left.
I know this is one of the major worries we Dobe people carry around with us the whole time we have these wonderful dogs. It was almost a factor which may have kept me from getting a Dobe, so common it is. But others with Dobes said that the time we have with them is still so worthwhile and that our love for them and their incredible devotion to us is unmatched by so many breeds, that it would be a bigger loss to not have had them in our lives at all. I do wish your heart to be full of enrichment from knowing your Duke boy and to be able to go through this with somewhat of a brave heart. My heart goes out to you and I'd hug you big time if I could. We're here.
