Free Lunch

I just had to relate a story that happened several years ago when I had my rough collie Lacey. We were having a cook out in the back yard and allowed the kids to roast weenies on the fire by themselves. My son Eric, who was about 8 at the time, crouched at that fire and roasted his weenie to perfection checking it often to make sure it was just the color he wanted. When he finished roasting it he meticulously placed it in the bun with just the right among of mustard, ketchup and relish. He picked up his plate and fixed his baked beans and chips just so and found his favorite lounge chair to sit in. Now he didn't want any bean juice on that bun so he held his hotdog in his left hand with his elbow on the arm of the lounge while he got himself situated. Once he was settled he took a big bite of his perfectly cooked hotdog only to come up with a mouth full of bun, mustard and relish. He looked to his left and there stood Lacey with that hotdog in her mouth, she had slipped that dog right out of the bun without Eric even knowing it, and proceeded to enjoy her perfectly cooked hotdog with just the right amount of mustard, ketchup and relish. I watched the whole scene play out in front of me and laughed till I cried. BTW Eric did get himself another hotdog and was lauded by Lacey for his culinary achievements.
