When they are in show coat I spend half an hour a day on each, and then the week before a show it takes a full four hours to do a complete line brushing, then bath, then blow dry and complete brush through again. Then at the show, another hour a day (line brush, primp, and making sure the feet and beard are as clean as possible)
When I am not showing, I clip them down to about an inch of coat, and just do a brush through every 2 or 3 days to make sure the cat comes in knot-free. It only takes a few minutes at that length of coat, but they are double coated and when they are clipped down or not if the undercoat is not brushed it can mat to their skin as if someone glued felt to them. LOL
