And this is where I think our judicial system sometimes has...issues. I've heard of more than one incident in which a dog that bit a trespasser (a *robber*, even) was labeled dangerous, the owners were held responsible, and the animal was even put down. Makes no sense to me at all.

A friend in a criminal justice class came back with *this* interesting little story -
a cat burglar literally suing and WINNING his case, after falling through the skylight pf the house he was attempting to burglarize, and landing on a knife that was left out on a cutting board. What on earth could the charges have been? Reckless endangerment of would-be criminals? The story was so bizarre that I have trouble believing it's true, but according to her professor, it certainly is, and is in the case books.
