Huge Server Mistake

I am so sorry everyone. The hard drive on the server crashed. We are now back up but unfortunatly we have lost all data since FEB 2006.

What have I done so this doesn't happen anymore. Well I moved to a more reliable hosting company, were we we get the level of support and growth you all deserve. In fact I guarantee that we will never have more than two hours down time again, even if the server blows up.

I have learned my lesson, and I truely hope you all forgive me.

For those who saw the new design, I will get it back up as soon as possible, as well as all the other features the globalpaw has offered in the past.

I am so sorry about the lose of data.

For all those members that registered between Feb 2006 and April 2006, you will need to re register with Globalpaw

Hey, GP is back up & running and that is what is important. I have no doubt that we'll see that the good data that has been lost will slowly but surely be re-posted and the good part is that those posts that might have been problematic are now gone.

Thanks for all that you are doing for all of us so that we can enjoy GP.

Just to let everyone know: When he says all the data, he means pictures that were uploaded, replies to threads after February, threads started after february, PM's, etc.
Next week things should get squared away, unfortunatly you will see some areas missing until then.

Hi - I have been posting to this site since 2/17/06 & lost my beloved Chinook on 4/12/06. I posted that day & days after. I've been crying every day and planned on copying all of my postings & saving in rememberance of my best friend and all of you who have helped me through this. As you guys know, the data was all lost .... Has anyone happened to have saved this? Either in electronic or hard copy format? If so, please let me know - it would mean the world to me to be able to recover this period of time in my life with Chinook.

Thanks for the info Doozy. Don't sweat it, we're all with ya on this one. It's hard to know where to go and who to trust anymore. Just keep doing as good a job as you have in the past and we'll all be happy.

I do have one question, When you say ALL does that mean that "some" of the info will never be found, or is it completely gone?

I am in much the same boat. All my posts on Chloe are lost too and she has now passed away

Shandoggy, it is everything since Feb. and it cannot be restored unless the members re-post the information.

Linnie, your posts on Chloe may be gone but she is in your heart and memory forever.

Hey! life happens...there is not much one can do! You're doing a great job and the tried and true GP'ers will just keep on posting and giving advice as usual....cause there is only 1 site that has that kind of class and GlobalPaw it is

I totally agree Shadowkins! I am so glad I found this site and have never looked elsewhere. I am on an all ACD forum though but I joined it before I joined GP and its a great place but it doesn't even measure up to the folks on GP! GP is truly #1
