Going Vegetarian

"Most people don't think of diet as an environmental issue, but it is! Meat production is incredibly inefficient. By growing grain which is fed to livestock which is fed to humans, you end up with much less food than you would have by feeding grain and other plant products directly to humans. Annually, an acre of land can produce 40,000 pounds of potatoes, 50,000 pounds of tomatoes, or a paltry 250 pounds of beef."

I was simply amazed when I read this. I had no idea. I knew about the cruelty to animals and I hate that but this right here helps motivate me more to be a vegetarian. I started today. I have began to do some heavy research on the matter. If anyone has more information or sites I can visit let me know.

Wow, big move. I couldn't do it myself, but I wish you luck with it. Vegetarian food is delicious though.

Well done!
I've been a vegetarian for most of my life (since I was about 7). I am one for various reasons, including hating the taste and look of meat, and because I care about the environment.Let us know how you're holding up! |
