We had just gotten home from my Grandma's house at about five o'clock, and Blackie and Rose needed out of their kennel. So I took Sadie inside (she had gone with us and had a blast. lol She had her very first boat ride and kept trying to jump out of the boat to eat the waves) and then I went outside and let the dogs out.
They were running around our front yard, about ready to head into our feild and Sadie darts out of our garage. Apparently, someone had forgotten to shut the main door, and it was just a screen door that was keeping her inside. She had pushed the door open and came darting outside wanting to play with our dogs.
Sadie has been around Rose before, and Rose wasn't too impressed. She tolorates her though. The only time Sadie is allowed around Blackie is when we walk them together, and then if Sadie tries to play with Blackie or gets in his "bubble", he growls at her.
So I was terrified when Sadie went running out the door strait toward Blackie. Sadie was so happy and started jumping all over him, and Blackie's hackles went up and Rose went into her "eat the other animal" posistion.
I was running over thinking, "Great, Sadie is going to get attacked by Blackie. Just what she needs!" and so I did the only thing I could think of to the dogs away from Sadie, I called them over to me. Immediatly, the both came running towards me, Sadie following behind. And again Sadie tried to jump on Blackie, and I told Blackie to come and sit, which he did. I was able to grab him and I started rubbing his ears and he completely forgot about Sadie. lol By that time my mom had grabbed Sadie and was attempting to drag her into the house.
I was just so proud of Blackie because he has gotten so much better with other dogs. If that had happend a couple of years ago, Blackie would have just attacked her, no questions asked, and he wouldn't have listened to me even if I had a steak in my hand. I'm just so happy with how far he has come and how he can walk by a strange dog on a leash and he only gives me a little bit of grief (whining with his tail strait up and in his "I'm the boss" stance). I'm just very proud of my boy. lol

We've worked so hard to get his aggression under control, and it has finally paid off.

for Blackie!
