Aggresive chewers
Hi everyone. I was wondering if some one could help me out, my aunty has a staffy who is an aggresive chewer. He is realyl well behaved and does not chew furniture or anything like that but when it comes to toys he just ruins them with in seconds. He has a kong which they put treats in to for him but they just want him to have a bit more selection on toys to chew, does anybody have some good suggestions i could pass on to my Aunty please? With Christmas coming up i think she wants to let Santa know what Naz wants so he's not left out
Thank you in advance Sharon and Charlie |

I had the same question, (in health concerns, why aren't these safe) I think we concluded nylabones under supervision, bully sticks, various ears (these might not last long). Raw bones will most likely last the longest, but I'm trying to get Kuchi's stomach used to raw beef first don't know if it would help, but it couldn't hurt. So he's getting 1 raw beef meal a day. Introduce raw bones slowly, very slowly.
I also have this treat ball that you can cap off with really hard treat caps. I think its called the everlasting treat ball. That lasts Kuchi days to get through the caps and then you put treats in the middle. |

around here we have lots of raw beef knuckle bones and regular marrow bones, a nylabone (not very popular), some orbee balls from planetdog (get the ones that are rated 5 out of 5 chompers). i also buy cheap stuffed animals from the thrift shop for 50 cents apiece and let them destroy those.

Yeah, I've done that too. Just be sure to cut out plastic eyes and noses and make sure the dog doesn't eat the fluff.
All the suggestions made so far are exactly what I would have suggested. Are you using the black kongs? Those are made for super heavy chewers. Also, I've heard that those tire toys are pretty sturdy, might be worth trying. |
