Help-----
I'm new to this community and I've joined in an effort to find some help......
I have 5 dogs. My issue is with number 3-- Zoey. She is a year old Pugsell. 7 months ago, we brought #4 (Leo) a dashaud and #5 (Frankie) a Pugsell home. Both were babies. 2 months ago, Zoey has decided that it is cool to CHEW THROUGH MY DRYWALL!!! I now have 3 holes in my walls!! She does it, of course when I'm not looking, in short period of times. If I take the laundry upstairs, tuck this kids in, make the beds...etc. She is confined when we are not home. Has anyone experienced this?? And what did you do???? Any ideas would be great. Once the hole is chewed, I spray it with nasty stuff, but I can't spray the whole wall. (pun NOT intended) |

That is a sign of a bored dog. My idea for you would be to do more with her as far as exercise, brain work, (obedience and/or a dog sport) take her to a class once a week with a reputable, gentle method trainer and practice every day with her. Make sure, with this many dogs that each is getting some good one on one time with you, interesting, new places to take walks, maybe teach some tricks. Provide good, hard chew toys like Kongs. You can stuff them with goodies to help keep the dog busy. How much is she confined or alone? Does she get to be with the other dogs when you're gone?
Anyhow....bottom line: More constructive and interactive stimulation and re-direct her behavior to something acceptable to you which is also rewarding to her. Prevent her from chewing on the wall so she doesn't get further reinforcement for that. (an ex-pen or crate?) Good luck. |

I was curious to know what a "Pugsell" was too. Obviously a designer breed..but I lose track
![]() It also sounds to me, like a very bored dog! (Off topic..but a pet peeve of mine is when people spell Dachshund wrong. i consider them "My Breed" lol) |

Thanks!!
Yes, she gets tons of time with the others as well as with me. I work from home. Yes, a pugsell is a JRT and Pug. She is a cutie....but wildly funny. And Yes--- I screwed up Dachshund-- pretty bad for an English major. Sorry. |
