Eating her own puppies poop is completely natural. It's an instinct she has to keep their area clean.
I'm really not sure why she's eating her own now. My guess is that she's doing it to keep the area clean. In all sincerity, it's just one of these things that dogs do (as far as eating poop). No one really knows a complete answer as to WHY they do it. Gross, I know. Are the puppies pottying in the house too? It could be the sent from the pups that is making her potty in the house now. You can try putting some meat tenderizer with her food. It's supposed to give her poo and undesirable taste (why it wouldn't already taste yucky, I don't know LOL). If you are able to spot any piles, pick them up so it doesn't give her a chance to eat it. If it's really concerning you, check with the vet. |
