Question New Lady at home

We just rescured a Golden Retriever and brought her home to live with our two American Eskimo's who are sooooo afraid of her and bark and snarl and growl antime our new 6 year old comes near. Any suggestions about how to make friends. The new one is calm and gentle but won't stand being attacked.
Thanks from Jude

Take them somewhere neutral. So they can be properly introduced and have a more comfortable place to start to make friends.

Cass.

Agreed.

Also, how long have you had the golden?

It may take a while for them to adjust. You can't really rush things with dogs are far as getting them to like eachother. You can certainly do things to help, but you'll ruin it if you get too pushy.

I'd also start walking them together. Walking is a great way to bond. They are doing something together, without having to directly interact with eachother.

Is there anyway you can keep them seperated by baby gates and such? Gate off one portion of your house for the two Eskies and the other for the Golden. Only let them interact in a controled environment (like walks and on leash supervision time). Start off just by letting the Eskies see the Golden through the gate. Reward any behavior that isn't barking/snarling (sitting quietly, ect.). When they can see each other through the gate without making a fuss, take them out on leash somewhere nuetral and let them see each other from a distance. Get closer while rewarding any good behavior. Stop before the Eskies starts getting agitated.
Continue to walk them together. Have someone walk the Eskies up ahead (or behind) and you can walk the Golden (or vise versa). Start off doing this until the Eskies will ignore the Golden and then you can start walking the Golden closer to them.

This is how we introduced our two dog aggressive dogs to Sadie, and then Chloe. At first they would bark and growl at her if they saw her through their kennel gate. After a while, they were fine with her out in our yard if they were kenneled. They didn't like her in our yard if they were out on leash, however. We then conquered that issue, and started taking them on walks together.
Now they are both fine with Chloe as long as she doesn't try to play with Blackie. I would never trust them alone together, or Chloe off leash around them as she has no manners, but we've made it so they can co-exist.

allow them to meet and get confident with each other. initially do it with them on leashes (you don't want any fights). its VERY important they learn to get along if they're going to live together. when they get a little friendly play with them together.
