Puppy Chewing?

Hey everyone, quick question. My min pin has a love for chewing up the bottom of our sofa? Is this something that is normal, do they grow out of it? Anything we can do to prevent it? Any advice would be wonderful! Thanks

What kind of toys does your pup have to chew on? You may need to buy something more interesting.

Try to correct your pup everytime they start to chew the sofa by saying "Uh Uh" and then giving them something they're allowed to chew on. If the 'uh uh' correction doesn't work, you could try a squirt bottle and just squirt a little water at the dog, then once it has stopped chewing the sofa, praise and give it something it can chew on.

Also make sure your dog is getting enough exercise ("a tired dog is a happy dog" and this could be done out of bordem) and don't leave it in the room with the sofa unsupervised...at least until it's trustworthy while you're in the room with it.

Making sure your dog has proper things to chew on helps more than people realize. When you do catch him chewing on the sofa, correct him, take him away from the sofa, and give him something he can chew on.
