how to teach...

to run over a "Target"????

Well I have to teach aika to run over a tile, that is about a squarefoot big.
I am not allowed to use a clicker, nor am i supposed to teach her to stop on it period, not even as a trainingstep.

she has to be tought to run over it, touching it with either paw.

Finished she has to be able to pace herself in a full run to hit the tile while she is running.

I have a brain block, can't think of a way....well one i find good...

any ideas?

Are you trying to do this as a running contact for agility?

The only way I can think of to do this is breaking it down in steps. Put your dog on a lead and walk her over the tile as you do say praise and treat her while you keep moving. I'd just keep repeating this until she started to look for the tile to step on then work on approaching it at different angles (still on lead) then give it a go off lead.

Don't know how effective that'll be for you but it's all I can think of - hope it at least helps get you started!!

Yup rivsky you are right it is gonna be the running contact, just didn't want to come out and say it, to keep the minds open...
