Question Assistance dog training

For all of you in South California -- especially Orange County.

Do you know or can you recomment a private trainer who is experienced in training assistance dogs? My dog must be trained as an assistance dog to do specific tasks (some I can train myself), and to be able to do everything necessary, so they can allow her in my class with me. The director of that program in school told me that if she is able to lay down with me quiet despite distractions that might come in the classroom, she will let me take her with me.

I want a trainer who will help me train her (meaning he/she will train my doggie along with me on the specific tasks I need her to do and know). Do you know anyone in Orange County? I must start her as early as possible, so I can have her in class with me in a year, if not sooner.

I'm nowhere near Orange Country, but I just wanted to say good luck! I'm sure she'll be a great assistant for you!

I'm always looking at dog training sites and I found this one about training your own service dog that I thought you might be interested in.

Not sure if you've already seen it. It also has a webring link to other service dog training sites (I haven't checked them out fully yet though).

Cass.

Hi Cass,
I have seen another site similar loong time ago, but it was not as comprehensive. I am too sleepy to check it now, but I will check this site and the one Boxmeln sent me; they look very helpful.
Thank you all; this forum is wonderful.
