What I do to get mine used to the show lead is allow them to sniff and play around it while it just lays on the floor till their comfortable with it, then just lay it across the back of their neck while brushing or doing something else they really like until their used to that.....we slowly then get used to wearing it by just dragging it around the house before I even make an attempt to pick it up.

When introducing anything new to any dog I start by first showing it to them (they usually sniff it to see if it's food and walk away) then lying it next to them while I feed their supper one kibble at a time or give them something they love to chew on (like a raw bone). I'll bring it closer to them with each session and then have them wear it while eating or chewing. Once they're good with that I startdoing what was the original intention. And always rewarding in the beginnning when it's being accepted and ignoring anything else. Eventually I phase out the food reward.

Cheers!

CAndy it's a agricultural club with various different sections where you go and learn about your particular area of interest, then you compete. But it's only for kids and young adults. Some sections are dairy cows conformation, beef cow conformation, dairy cow milk producability (<<< new word LOL), horses in harness (this gets broken down further too i believe), horses dressage, and it goes on and on, then there are the non-animal related sections such as massive crop production, quality of produce, etc.

Cheers!
