Kadin is helping Brandi learn too.

We adopted Kadin one week ago today. He is about 18 months old and loves to play with toys. My Brandi doesn't know how to play with toys and isn't interested in learning. But yesterday Brandi and Kadin both wanted the same toy sock so they started a tug competition for that silly sock. Kadin won when Brandi's attention was taken away for a second and he took advantage of that and ran away with the sock. But she chased him trying to get it back.
Yesterday afternoon I took both of them outside with me to play. I brought along all of our tennis balls. Kadin learned to sit still and wait for me to throw the ball and Brandi just sat there and watched us. It didn't take long before she was joining in the run for the ball. She got it a few times and picked it up in her mouth, which is a real milestone for her. Kadin did finally get the ball away from her but at least she is interacting with toys now. I'm hoping I can cultivate a little of that jealosy into her participating in more activities outside.
