Someone please HELP!!!!

I have a 10 year old Staffordshire...(March 8th)....we recently moved to a larger city and are now in an apartment(she has been in one most of her life). She is not adjusting...

She has chewed through our drywall twice....after being repaired. She has clawed at the door so hard, her feet are bleeding and raw. and just last night we came home and found she had trapped herself in the coat closet.... it looks like we torture our dog when we are not home, there was so much blood from her feet and she tore a muscle in her back leg...

We have increased her walking time however we have to limit due to the cold conditions...we're in Canada and she has short hair...she pulls back to the apartment when she is out..

We are running out of options, because we need something to work immediately...and within our budget..

Please if anyone has any suggestions....she's never been like this before and I can't give up my girl....

Treadmill? Some people exercise their dog on one. Sorry I wasn't of much help.

Can you crate her? Does she chew on kongs or other toys?

I'm sorry I don't have any better options for you.

I also wanted to ask if you crate her when you are gone? If she is injuring herself that much when you are not there, for her own safety I would crate her.

How long do you take her for walks?

Treadmill is definately a good idea. Also if you have access to an idoor pool that will allow dogs? Perhaps if doggy daycare is around you could use them (if it's in your budget, I don't know how much it costs). She needs a lot of exercise, that's probably what is driving her nuts. They're such an active breed. Perhaps splitting her walking time up into several walks morning and night (and maybe one in the middle of the day if it's possible or you can get a neighbour/friend to do it).
Buy her a good jacket to take her walking, a short coat shouldn't be the reason to not take her out in cold weather. You can even buy dog booties specifically for cold climates like yours.

Cass.

I also don't discredit medicating. If she is THAT stressed out, I'd talk to your vet. RUN if they say ace but fluoxetine or clomicalm might help.

I sure hope you can figure something out. For everyone's sanity and safety
