Unhappy reggie seems depressed

Good morning,
We got a new furkid, Libby, last Thursday. She is doing good. Up until yesterday Reggie was doing fine with her and acting her normal goofy self.
\Yesterday Reggie started to act different. Not coming in from outside when called, I always go out with her, she hasn't had to be on a leash to go out in the yard for almost a year. Now when it is time to come in she sits down and looks at me. Libby is on leash. Reggie almost seems depressed, like she just realized Libby was here to stay.
I don't remember Winston having a problem when Reggie came to live with us.
Any suggestions would be great, I miss my big kid

Oh no...no one saw this thread. How are things since you wrote this? Any improvement or is it about the same?

Do you think you fuss over Reggie less now that you have Libby? I'm sure Reggie is just trying to work out her position within the househould and I'm sure she'll settle down once a few weeks have passed by. It's understandable that her behaviour has changed since you got Libby.

Gosh, I'm really sorry we missed your thread. Thanks Carrie for bumping it.

Maybe she equates the leash with fun activities like walks or outings but she sees Libby getting a leash and she doesn't. It may be as simple as putting both dogs on leash, especially if Reggie's is very sensitive. Just my .02

Hi
Reggie has gone back to being her same old self.
She and Libby are now getting along great!! Reggie and Libby play each other out.
We now are working with Libby on being off leash. She is doing pretty good.
I am still trying to understand why anyone would keep this beautiful furkid in the garage. She has had no behavorial issues in the 3 weeks that we have had her.
Thanks for the input!!

Glad to hear that. Yeah...probably just some normal adjustments the dogs each need to work out. They're lucky to have you to understand and make things better.

That's great news! Some dogs just need time to adjust to something new.
