Chester has been on his harness walking for months, and this evening when we went around the house for a walk, I told him to "Yip, yip!" (run) and he ran, and when I told him "turn" he turned around the corner, and he was really smart. What happend? Is he suddenly smart? Why is he so smart all of the sudden?

If you've been using these commands for a while he may have "clicked" and understood at last what you wanted.
If this is the first time you've used the commands it's probably either a fluke or you were giving him cues in some other way (body language for example) that let him know what you wanted. And remember, he's smart all of the time. Cass. |

Cass, thanks. I think he finally clicked, and he understands like a human almost. I think that he is learning to understand my body language as well as my words. I also think that he has thought as me more as "the leader of the pack" then "the follower" I think that he is good at many things, and now he can be a jogging companion. HAPPY SAINT PATRICT'S DAY!
