Scabs...red marks....Chewing on skin

Okay, Zen is COMPLETELY obsessed with chewing on Cartmans neck. I never thought it was too bad..dogs know when another dog is biting too hard, and will let them know. Last night I noticed bumps on cartman's neck, took a closer look and there are scabs, and red marks, and bumps..And I know its from Zen's chewing. Cartman just will not let him know when he is being too rough. Zen does the same thing to Jannah (actually removed her collar from all the chewing) but Jannah will bite him if he is too rough, and Zen gets the hint.

What should I do to get him to stop biting Cartman so hard, since Cartman is obviously not going to do anything about it? So far I have just been telling him "NO" and putting a leash on him and not letting him near Cartman until he calms down..then I let him off the leash and usually he won't bite his neck right away..but will start up again sooner or later.

What are you suggestions to stop this behavior? I have given him toys to chew on, but he prefers to play with Cartman (Which results in the neck chewing). He stopped his human biting problem, but now he bites the dogs (And all but Cartman let him know hes too rough)

Cocoa used to lick one of our other dog's ears so much that they became really raw. We just had to put to a stop to it whenever she started doing it and keep them separated when we could not correct it. It was one of those things she didnt' do all the time, just on occassion, so it didn't take very long. I think i was a hormonal thing. It popped up along with the humping. :s

wow I don't know what to say about that. Maggie licks the inside of Gracie's ears to where she has constant and painful ear infections. I am constantly yelling at her to stop.

I wonder if there is anything a Vet. has (maybe call your Vet. for suggestions) or something sold in stores that would be safe to apply to the poor things that have become a "security blanket" so to speak, that would stop the others from licking and chewing them? Maybe think up your own remedy. I've never come upon this type of problem but I'll see what I can find out.

Elliot does the same thing to the other dogs ears, but not bad enough to cause any infections. (He actually keeps all the dogs ears clean..and he himself has no one to do it for him except me lol).

I don't even know what kind of thing a vet could give me. I am hoping its just a stage, and he will grow out of it..and maybe he will stop once hes neutered. I have really been considering getting him neutered when he turns 4 months old (in a week).

Try putting something that tastes bad on cartmans neck. Like bitterapple or something. Perhaps if he gets a bad taste in his mouth from it he won't do it anymore?

Cass.

I was thinking about that! I wanted to get bitte rapple spray anyway to put on the other dogs collars so he would stop chewing on them...I'm sure Cartman won't like having bitter apple on his skin, but hopefully it will get Zen to stop chewing on him.
