Help,
We have had our lab/vizsla mix for two years, this month. She is crate/potty trained. When we moved from Chicago to San Antonio a year ago, she had potty training regression. She peed on the carpet in the same spot a couple of times and then back to normal-no problems all year. Two weeks ago, my neice relocated from Illinois and moved in with us. She is staying until she can find an apartment here. Wrigley (our dog) has all of a sudden had a regression in potty training. She has been going in both of her beds-one is in her crate ,the other on the floor in our room and once or twice on the carpet. Also, she was squatting several times during walks. At first we thought she was upset about the new family member. But then we took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. While she was on medication, she continued her incontinence but it was kept mostly on her beds. Finally, after the 7th and final day of medication, no more wet beds. They were dry for three days and it seemed she had even accepted that our new house guest was here to stay and had gotten close to her. However, today, we let her out and then put her in her crate and left for two hours. When we came home, guess what, soaked bed. Does anyone have any insight? Could she just be adjusting to the addition of a family member? Could she have had a UTI relapse? Please shed some light!! ![]() p.s. we know she is not just cleaning herself b/c there is just too much fluid soaking through to the bottom of the bed |

I think a trip back to the vet is needed. It may be a UTI again, or there may be another problem entirely.
I'd want to rule out any and all health problems in this case before I thought it was behavioural. Cass. |
