He's confused me...

Well, the saterday we got back from vaccation, we had a wedding to go to. So, we pulled the crate out in the morning, to see how he'd react. Well, he walked right in and layed down and refused to come out. We left him alone in there for about 2.5 hours. Then, 1.5 hours on Monday, and 4 hours last night. No accidents, he wants to be in the crate more than in his dog house.

Did going on vaccation and boarding him scare him to death? Or just being in a crate type thing there help him? Or just coming home after a week and half, and making leaving and staying in the crate part of life, help. I'm starting to think we should have went on vaccation and boarded him sooner [LOL].

I'm just really confused, are we "cured" so to speak?

Sounds like he decided to just grow up some while you were away. Maybe seeing the other dogs in their kennels helped. He doesn't sound traumatized at all. Usually if they are they drop their hair like crazy. It just falls out all over. Don't weigh too much into it.....enjoy the change and go with it.

Oh, believe me I'm enjoying it! Its just odd him loving the crate this much!
Its nice to just "go out for lunch" just for the fun of it, and not worry about him, so much. Or run errands and not be quick in -- quick out, type deal.

Yay!! Glad to hear he has learned to like the crate! Be sure to continue to reinforce that the crate is a happy place. If you arent' already, toss a few treats in there sometimes so he can find them when he gets there.

We do! I'll throw a couple treats like its "raining treats" right before I leave. And LOTS and LOTS of positive reinforcment He's just doing so good It leave my BF and I ALOT less stressed, and Buddy a more well rounded pup He's alot more confortable I guess, is the right word, with us less stressed about leaving him.
