Isn't it disgusting? I don't understand why they do it. I've had this problem with Gizmo as well.

Apparantly there's additives you can feed them which makes the poop taste bad to them, but I've also heard that they'll eat their poop when they're not getting enough protiens and whatnot. What dog food are you feeding your puppy?

I'm no expert, that's for sure! But just wanted to pass on what others have told me.

How old is the puppy? If the problem is that the puppy goes at night, you need to stop feeding earlier in the evening. And then I would confine the puppy in a crate in your room so she can't roam around at night and so that she can wake you up if she has to go.

Yes, it would be smart to crate your puppy at night, so he/she dosen't have free roam of the house...if you don't want to do that, you should get up every couple of hours to take him/her outside...that will prevent having to go in the house.

The vet sells medicine that you can put on the food, and then they won't eat their poop.

well, i cant crate her, shes a little neurotic........shes 8 mo now, and i feed her science diet - lamb and rice puppy formula. she only eats over night, so i dont want to take it away (i told you shes neurotic, lol) and shes so scared of outside (neurotic, lol), that i can only take her out once, and thats right before i go to bed. eventually ill work to twice, three times, etc.....i even come home on my lunch break, and usually theres no mess. only overnight. maybe if i try to feed her while im at work, and then take her out on unch or when i get home, and then take her out agian when i go to bed, that way shell (hopefully) get more used to going outside, and maybe i wont have crumbled poo all over my carpet.......i just hopes she eats at that time.....
