Talking August Book!

Hey guys! Book club is back for August.

Normally we make a poll to choose the book, but I thought instead of doing that this time I'd make it easy and just pick a book. Hope no one minds.

The book I chose is The Loop by Nicholas Evans (author of the Horse Whisperer).

Bookclub doesn't start until 1st of August. I'll post the discussion thread on that day (might be a bit late on that day because I'm "down under" ) and we'll ("officially" for discussion purposes) read between 1 & 3 chapters a day (I've got the book with me and chapters 1, 2 & 3 together are about 27 pages...so that's not much ). Of course you may read ahead if you wish.

Hope some of you will join me. I'm told it's quite a good book. Check out the amazon page I have linked above (in the book title) for more info on it...it even has an excerpt from the book available if you want a sneak peak.

Ok..I'll see you guys in a week and a bit!

Cass.

Wish I could get back into the book reading but I just can't find the time just yet. Two homes up for sale, keeping them clean and the yard work done, plus three VERY needy dogs and one that needs to be played with.

Yay! I have that book. It'll be nice to have a reason to reread it. I wasn't that impressed when I first read it, but hopefully I'll find it more enjoyable this time.

Unhappy Will it be sad?

Navygrrl, please tell me if it is sad, because if it is, then I don't think I can read it. I just read Marley & Me by John Grogan, and I laughed so hard that I was gasping for air, but I cried even harder. I was holding my sweet puppy and sobbing into his fur. I'm not sure I can do that again so soon.

If you're going to tell anyone about the book, please do it in PM so that those who don't like to know anything before they begin don't feel like anything's been spoiled or given away. Cheers!

Nice to have you with us Navygrrl! I look forward to reading and discussing it. I have been trying to stop myself from starting it just yet. LOL

Cass.

WooHoo! Glad to have a couple of people with me this month. I'm really looking forward to reading this book. I've had it staring at me from next to my computer for months. LOL

Anyone who thinks they might be interested....we start on Tuesday (US time -so that's Wednesday for anyone in Aussies or NZ).

I have such a hard time keeping up because of the kids and the hectic show scheduals...however I have now ready Marley and me as well as the lovely bones!
loved them both and once I was able to finally pick them up I read Marley and me in 4 days and the lovely bones in 3....so i am going to try and get tot he book store this weekend or Monday to get his one and catch up.
So I wanted you to know Cass that while it may seem that the following is small on the threads, I am taking the suggestions and running with them when I can.
So far I have not been disappointed.
Thank you for doing this Cass, I appreciate the help selecting a good book ,more then you know!

No problem Trin, I'm just glad you like the books. For me what the bookclub is about is introducing people to new authors they wouldn't normally have read. So even if not many people join in I know there will be people who choose one of our bookclub books next time they want something to read.

Should thank Novel for suggesting the idea in the first place, this is her baby.

Cass.
