My favourite dog book is 'The New Encyclopedia of the Dog' by Bruce Fogle! I love the photographs in it.

I LOVE that book. I look at it almost every day.
I'm not fond of some of the breed descriptions and I hate that they have a few designer mutts in it, but wow! I love that this book has actual photographs of some of the rarest dogs in it. I'm totally in love with this book and have been since I bought it last year. I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves it.

Cass.

I bought it a few of years ago for $50 (I think when I was 14). Gosh, that was probably the most money I had ever spent back then! I look at it all the time too! Yeah, I'm not happy that they have some 'designer dogs' in there either, but I absolutely love looking up the rare breeds.

I have so many dog books and no favorites. I just love dog books and keep buying them. Now I'll have to by The New Encyclopedia of The Dog.

I also love 'Dog Speak' by Bash Dibra. It's a great book that explains the behaviours of dogs, training methods and information about the wolf.

For stories, I love "Where the Red Fern Grows" (bawled my eyes out), "Call of the Wild" (very sad), and my Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul. LOL

I also like "The Other End of the Leash" and my various dog magazines. lol

Are we including magazines then? There is an Australian magazine that I love called "Dog's Life". Although I have to say that most of the info in it is pretty basic for your average 'dog person'. But I guess they're aiming the magazine at the general public, who know next to nothing. In any case, it's a great magazine, I love the breed features.

Cass, I used to collect Dog's Life magazines, but I stopped after they became a little too basic. I've still got all my old copies though.

I've become a little lazy about buying it lately. Mostly since Jesse died, but the info really is way too basic. Occasionally they have a good medical feature, but the rest is stuff you should already know before you even think of buying a dog. Oh well, I love it for the breed features. I keep my eye out for rare breeds I'm interested in.

Cass.
