Merles Door

WOW just WOW thats all I have to say about this book, this author truly knows\understands a dogs soul\genes\history and what makes him\her truly complete. I love Patricia M. but this is officially now my favorite dog based book by a long long ways.

This is how dogs were truly meant to live.

EDIT......I don't want to post any spoilers becasue I love this book so much(and I'm only a 1\2 way through it) but the reason it's called Merles door is because he has his own door, it's more of a analogy for the freedom he's given to run his own life and move through the world.

Oh! Sounds good. I'll have to check it out.

It's kinda a "man and his dog" type of book(deffinetly wrritten from a guys point of view) but there's alot of science mixed in very similure to what Patricia M does.

I'd say he has more story and less learning than say The other end of the leash or for the love of a dog, but same style of learning+entertainment writing. Very fun if your into that kind of thing.

Just finished it tonight and I don't think I've ever read a book thats spoken to me like Merle's door, the relationship between the main character and Merle is beyond anything I'd ever imagined possible.

I agree it is an excellent book.
