Um, to me, it's a huge problem.
As far as physically, at least your female is mostly mature, and can physically handle the pregnancy, as long as you get her immediate prenatal care, as, I assume that she was not checked over by a vet prior to the breeding. Your male has been producing sperm for many months now, and although not physically mature, his job is pretty much done, isn't it? Want my honest advice? Go to the vet, have your girl spayed and remove the possible puppies now before she gets any further along. It may sound cruel, but so is putting them to sleep years from now after a life bounced around from home to home and shelter to shelter. And don't think for an instant that just because they're purebred, this won't happen. With millions of dogs being euthanized every year, they're not all mixed breeds, and most of them are produced in the exact way that you've done. While you're at the vet, neuter your male also. I don't mean to sound rude, and I don't want to be offensive... but every "oops" litter is a slap in the face to the rescuer/foster mom that has worked months to place dogs in loving homes, only to see them come back, develop behavioral issues, and get put to sleep. An "oops" litter of just 3 puppies can take up a great deal of rescuer's time and money, and there is never enough of either to begin with. It just breaks my heart to see these things happen, and to read posts like this. |

Your male may not be mature enough to produce a healthy litter of puppies. i too would take your female into the vet and have her spayed immediately. The vet can do it even if she is pregnant, in fact they can do it and never tell you if she was actually pregnant.
You'd hate for those pups to have a lifetime of medical issues because this was allowed to happen. Obvioulsy you need to get your male neutrered as well, he clearly has the "drive" to make babies and we don't need any more pups in this world. My town puts pups to sleep every single day, the demand just isn't there, too many pups |

I agree with what has already been stated. Unless this was a well planned litter with all the health tests, temperment tests and pedigree research completed.

Probably gonna get my head bit off for this but just my own personal opinion: Which dog is dominant of the two? I personally would fix the less of the two but if you cannot guarentee to keep ur bitch from getting pregnant then I would definately fix her, but if you fix her after babies are born wait till they are about 21/2 months then have her fixed. If you fix him I personally would wait till he is fully grown. If you decide to allow her to have these babies I do hope you are prepared to find good homes for all and if not plan on keeping some, or even accepting the fact that you might have them back even when they are fully grown if for some reason the knew owners are unable to keep them. You also want atleast a grande or more on hand incase of emergency like sections ect. Boxers are a Brack breed so Iam sure whelping may not come as easy for this breed just like Bostons. Best of luck with what you choose and please be more careful next time. Your bitch will be in heat around the time those puppies are 4 months old. 2 months for being pregnant, 2 months for rearing and 2 months for herself and you definately do not want another pregnancy so close as it is very hard on her. |
