Chicken Soup for Dogs, what's your recipe?

After our dogs receive any type of anesthetic, we make chicken soup for them. We feed this soup because it is palatable, easy, nutritious, easy to digest and has natural electrolytes.

Here is my recipe:

1 whole chicken with neck and organs (sometimes I add extra wings or necks for more gelatin)
2 baby zucchini, sliced
1-2 clove of garlic, grated (grated or pressed)
1/2 large sweet potato, diced
1/4 bunch of parsley, chopped

1. I add the first 4 ingredients in stock pot.
2. Add water to just cover the meat and veggies.
3. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 8-12hrs.
4. Let Cool.
5. Skim off fat layer.
6. Pick out bones and shred meat.
7. Add parsley.
8. Serve lukewarm or room temp.
9. Refrigerate left overs.

What's your recipe?

My whole family makes chicken soup all the time, and I just give it to Sophie, too, just take out the onions. We usually put in:

Carrots
Celery
Onions (removed for Sophie)
Zuccini
Chicken-whole chicken cut up (then remove from the bone to feed to Sophie afterwards)
Parsley
a bit of garlic

Simmer for a few hours

Great for everyone-furballs and humans!

I use just the breasts and my kids get this every day of their lives.

4 Chicken breasts
1 pound green beans
6 apples
6 boiled eggs
4 oz parsley
4 C oatmeal.

It's not a soup it's their dinner every night. They also receive a complete supplement and calcium tablet with Vitamin D.

These are great recipes -- thanks for sharing them. My guys have been on only raw since September. However when I was cooking regularly and feeding 50:50 raw:home cooking, my guys got chicken stew. My recipe was simplistic:

chicken quarters
frozen mixed veggies (carrots, potatoes, corn, green beens, celery)
3 varieties of vitamin mineral mixes

I prepare the same as Dogs4life and save the stock until it is time for serving.
