What do you think of this food?
![]() I saw them when I was at PetSmart the other day. They are a "complete Meal" for dogs in a bone. It looked really interesting. Stupid me forgot to read the ingredients though. They were also rather expensive. |

I agree. I like the idea behind it though. Almost multi tasking. Dogs eating, cleaning teeth, keeping occupied.

Oh yeah, for sure. The idea is fantastic
And I'm no expert on ingredients, but I'm pretty sure if the first ingredient is not some sort of meat meal, it's not very good. It also says the second ingredient is "chicken by-product meal". I'm not even sure what the heck a by-product meal is but I know "By-product" is no good. Let's see what others think. |

It may be better than some "grocery brand" foods, but I wouldn't put the ingredients in the same league as other common "good" foods (Nutro), not to mention very high quality food such as Timber Wolf.
So, who on here wants to invent a meal like that for dogs only using good ingredients? Maybe we can make millions. ![]() I love that idea though. I could give the dogs their breakfast in the morning in the form of the bone and they'd be content, clean their teeth, eat their food, have a toy, and think it is a treat all rolled into one. |

It doesn't come close to the best food -- raw -- of course. The first things that turned me off were (1) first ingredient is grain (2) second ingredient is by-product, and (3) most of the rest is cheap grain - corn and wheat. I gave something similar to this to my dog during his last few months alive, however. He found that kind of product to be very tasty.

I would never feed those ingredients to my dog... I've never heard of glycerin being in dog food before. I'm assuming it has to do with the bone-shape. Gross. |

I hope no one thinks I would feed those ingredients to MY dogs! I would never!. Just curious what everyone thought (I didn't even know what the ingredients were but figured they were bad), and actually I am still curious what everyone thinks of the IDEA behind it. Pretend the ingredients are similar to Innova evo, or the like, what do you think of that being a form of meal for a dog?

The problem is, is that it most likely isn't real bone...like Sophie mentioned (re: the glycerine). And if it were real bone, wouldn't it be cooked in some way? I think I would prefer to stick with a premium kibble and add raw bones in myself (if I wasn't going to feed a completely raw diet). So, to answer your question...me personally, I don't like the idea. It's interesting, but more likely a marketing gimic than something meant for the dog's health.
