searching for a affordable kidney diet

hey im new here, this is my first post

i have 3 year old bernese mnt dog.he is smaller than others . about 65 lbs. recently he has been having trouble holding his bladder in the house. we took him to the a different vet than usual. The vet found him too skinny, and said he doubts he's got a bladder infection, but rather a kidney problem. after blood tests and urine tests, they confirmed he doesnt have a bladder infection but could not say if he had any kidney problems as his urine was basically like water. He drinks alot....

anyways now the vet put him on a Science diet prescription diet. he needs science diet KD dry food mixed with canned food AD series.

is there any substitute for this more affordable??

thanks
