Our new diet is wonderful, just an update

So we sent "kibble free" on 12-29-07 time really flies, I wasn't aware it was really that long ago. Just thought I'd share as I'm thrilled with our progress.

Hank - Hank is doing great, still no bones, I'll give him till June then I'll start grinding for him. He is starting to eat heart muscles along with meats, finally He's starting to chew only if the meat is bigger than him so I have to put out a slab, let him work on it and then put it back in the fidge for later, it really grosses out non-raw feeders He still yacks up green tripe so I'm really bummed about that, my supplier is literally stumped, she has never had a yacker before Hank.

Side effects or benefits...Hank's breath, coat, body odor, muscle tone, urine and stools are all better. My little Chi is sooooo soft and he hardly sheds anymore.

Missy - My cat is a champ, she eats anything and everything...well except chicken wings, cannot figure that one out.

SIde effects or benefits...She is sooooo soft too, like a rabbit soft and her shedding has cut drastically. She's loosing her little poochy tummy and excess weight. She's not raging hungry all the time, I'm really surprised since a friend of mine raised cats on raw and they are like little terrors at feeding time and when anyone has food out.

Nothing like "real" food to get them in the best health ever. I'm so happy to hear how wonderful they are doing. Maybe Missy would just love to have a big fish instead of chicken. hahaha!

That's great that Hank and Missy are doing so well with the new diet.

With the tripe I personally wouldn't bother pushing the issue with Hank, as far as I understand it isn't a must have on the menu.

Calgal - She LOVES the fishies and shellfish, I'm just picky about fish and haven't found a great supply, maybe I'll have to dust off the fishing pole

I was hoping to substitute green tripe for bones since it's a balanced source of calcium and phosphorus and he cannot eat bones. He was willing to eat tripe, in fact he really likes it but just vomits, go figure. Well, all signs are pointing toward grinding for little Hanky.

I didn't either till I chatted with breeders who feed tripe as a major menu item along with organs, meats and cartilage rich bits.
