Have you heard of this?
Me and Mandi went to a new dog food store today, and they had dehydrated raw food there. It is by "The Honest Kitchen" and they have a website too. I am not sure If I can post a link, but if you google 'the honest kitchen' it comes up as the first link. I am pretty amazed, but I was wondering if there was something I am missing? Is it too good to be true? LOL
I think now that it is the summer and I actually have time, I can use this and slowly introduce Mandi and myself to raw foods? They guy gave me a little sample package, so I am going to mix some in with her breakfast and see if she likes it tomorrow. |

We don't have anything like that here in Australia, but I did google the company and came across their website.
I think their food is probably better than most kibble if you are wanting to go grain free but I have heard with some of the pre-packaged raw stuff that often it is made up with far too much bone which can result in chronic constipation. Was unclear from the ingredients list whether the chicken included the bones or not. I think part of the appeal of feeding a raw diet though is the fact that you can 100% control exactly what you're feeding your dog each meal so you can control the bone/meat ratio. Unless I needed to go pre-packaged for convenience sake (such as going away or something) I'd probably be more inclined to stick with a more natural raw diet. How did Mandi like it? |

I think on their FAQ page, they say that they don't include bones in the food, because of availability of "human grade" bones, or lack of.
Since she is eating kibble right now(wellness core), I figure this has to be a step up from that and it gives me the chance to experiment with adding different things into it and getting comfortable with feeding raw. Mandi hasn't eaten breakfast yet, but hopefully she will love it! I will let you know! |

Pshht! So much for that! Mandi ate it if I gave it to her on my finger, but otherwise she was just like, 'why did you put this stuff in my food??' and just ate the kibble out of it. It smelled REALLY good, and I was tempted to try it, but refrained. lol Oh well, we can still try some raw stuff even without it, and I didn't giver her all of it, so maybe she will come around tonight (yeah, right).
