Question Flint River Ranch "Fish and Chips" Question

Hello again,

I am pretty sure I want to switch to flint river ranch dog food but am not sure if I should get the "fish and chips" or the "Lamb, millet, and rice". I have a Westie who has been having skin problems lately. The fish and chips contains no corn, wheat, chicken, or rice. The lamb, millet, and rice also does not contain corn, wheat, or chicken, but it does include rice.

Does anyone have any ideas as to which one I should get?

I have never fed my dog Flint River, but I feed her Premium Edge Skin and Coat Formula with salmon, potatoes and vegetable. Sophie's coat is gorgeous, and I have fed her several high-quality dog foods, and this one is definitely the best. I supplement it with some human foods like oatmeal, brown and white rice mixed together, chicken, raw eggs, olive oil and sea kelp powder but dry kibble is still her staple.

Premium Edge is also more reasonably priced.

Here are the Ingredients:
Salmon, ocean fish meal (a source of fish oil), potatoes, peas, cracked pearled, barley, millet, egg product, oatmeal, canola oil, tomato pomace, natural flavor, flaxseed, choline chloride, dried chicory root, glucosamine hydrochloride, kelp, carrots, apples, tomatoes, blueberries, spinach, dried skim milk, cranberry powder, rosemary extract, parsley flake, yucca schidigera extract, L-Carnitine, chondroitin sulfate, Enterococcus faecieum, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Saccharomyces cerevesiae fermentation solubles, dried Aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract, vitamin E supplement, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, copper sulfate, potassium iodide, thiamine mononitrate, manganese proteinate, manganous oxide, ascorbic acid, vitamin A supplement, biotin, calcium pantothenate, manganese sulfate, sodium selenite, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), vitamin B12 supplement, riboflavin, vitamin D supplement, folic acid.

Seems to me it's a pretty solid food to use. About the choice of the 2, if this is a smart company, they will offer free samples of both and I would take full advantage of that if I were you. Let the pup pick whichever he/she likes.

At corner petstore in my neighborhood, they have a gazillion samples of almost everything they sell. The majority of their line is of only high quality varieties and the guarantee they give you is simply, "you're dog will eat it or your money back on the unused portion." They then donate the unused portion to the local shelters, so it's a win-win situation.

I don't really think you'd go wrong with picking either one of the Flint River products. I looked at them pretty close and they seem to be spot on with their ingrediants.

Let us know what your results are!!
