In my oppinion, and it seems like many others on here, but Iams is not that great of a food in general. That Link has tons of great information. |

Isn't Hi-Pro a Purina food? Neither that or Iams is very good. You best bet is to feed a high-quality food like Canidae, Chicken Soup, Eagle Pack, Solid Gold, Innova, Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance, etc.... you will pay more upfront, but feed less and it will save LOTS on vet bills!

Well, I fed Royal Canin Energy 4800 Formula for active, athletic working dogs, but since you fed Iams Weight Control (which is a weight diet?), I don't know if you should use RC Energy 4800. It contains 32% protein and 30% fat. It do cost a little more than the other types of dog food, but it's worth it, dobes aren't exactly known for gaining weight fast, and they got high metabolism on top of that. I would throw in a few more bucks on it if I were you, IF your dog is that kind as I described and need this kind of food.
Read more about it here: http://www.caninehealthnutrition.com/cynoenergy.htm |
